The Wynoochee river is a tributary of the Chehalis river, and offers some great year-round fishing opportunities. The Wynoochee River River is considered ground zero for winter Steelhead in Grays Harbor, located near Montesano WA. We fish the Wynoochee out of either our 18' jet sled or North River drift boat, depending on water conditions, combined with techniques like side drifting and bobber fishing, you're sure to be satisfied chasing steelhead all day long!
Located near the southern end of the Olympic Peninsula, the Wynoochee travels from the Olympic National Park down to the town of Montesano, where it joins the Chehalis river before emptying into the Pacific Ocean.
We fish Chinook, Coho and Chum salmon on the Wynoochee river all during the fall months (September - December) in either my jet sled or drift boat, using a variety of techniques including pulling plugs, twitching jigs, casting spinners or floating eggs. You will find hatchery Steelhead on the Wynoochee river, as well as other fish species.
Gaffney's Washington fishing guide service will help you learn how to catch the big ones on the Wynoochee River, just like these folks did!
